NHL Power Rankings Week 2 (2026-27): All 32 Teams by Stanley Cup Odds

Two weeks into the season, the Stanley Cup market has a new favorite. Our NHL power rankings for Week 2 rank all 32 teams by their betting odds to win the Cup, as of Sunday night, October 11, 2026, and the defending champion Carolina Hurricanes have moved to No. 1 after the Florida Panthers lost captain Aleksander Barkov for six to eight weeks.
NHL power rankings Week 2: all 32 teams
Rank comes from each team's fair Stanley Cup probability: the average of six books' implied odds (bet365, BetMGM, DraftKings, Caesars, FanDuel and Hard Rock) with the bookmaker margin removed. Consensus is the middle price across those books, and Best is the longest one. The last column compares with our Week 1 NHL power rankings from September 30.

Tier 1: a three-way race for favorite (1 to 3)
1. Carolina Hurricanes (4-1-1, +700)
The champs are 4-1-1 and lead the Metropolitan Division with 9 points. Carolina beat Vegas in six games in June, finishing it with a 3-0 shutout in Game 6, and the market has slowly come back around to it. It opened the summer behind Colorado, sat third in our Week 1 board, and now has the shortest single price on the board at +600.
2. Florida Panthers (2-1-2, +700)
Florida was No. 1 two weeks ago. Then Barkov, its captain and top center, went on long-term injured reserve with a leg injury; the team says he will not need surgery and should miss six to eight weeks. The Panthers are 2-1-2 and lost 4-1 to Minnesota on Saturday. Books trimmed them only slightly, from +650 to +700, which tells you the market still expects Barkov back well before spring.
3. Colorado Avalanche (3-2-0, +700)
Colorado is 3-2-0 and gave up six goals in a 6-3 loss to Toronto on Saturday. Its price has barely moved from +700, and it sits a fraction of a point behind Florida.
Tier 2: contenders (4 to 9)
4. Edmonton Oilers (4-0-1, +900)
Edmonton is 4-0-1, its best start since 2021-22, and beat San Jose 3-1 on Saturday. The price has shortened from +900 to as low as +800 at bet365, but the spread across books is wide, with Caesars at +1,100.
5. Vegas Golden Knights (5-1-0, +1,000)
Vegas has the best record in the league at 5-1-0 and 10 points. Mitch Marner scored in overtime to beat Los Angeles 2-1 on Saturday. The Knights hold fifth, right where they started.
6. Tampa Bay Lightning (4-1-0, +1,200)
Tampa Bay has won four straight and shares the Atlantic lead at 4-1-0. Brandon Hagel had a hat trick in a 5-3 win over the Islanders on Saturday.
7. Minnesota Wild (3-1-1, +1,300)
Kirill Kaprizov scored three times in Minnesota's 4-1 win over Florida on Saturday. The Wild are 3-1-1 and hold seventh.
8. Washington Capitals (3-1-0, +1,250)
Washington is 3-1-0 and climbs one spot, with FanDuel as short as +1,100 and Caesars as long as +1,600.
9. Dallas Stars (2-2-1, +1,550)
Dallas is 2-2-1 and slips one spot to ninth, at a +1,550 consensus.
Tier 3: playoff hopefuls (10 to 18)
- 10. Montreal Canadiens (2-2-1, +2,100): Beat Detroit 1-0 in a shootout on Saturday and hold 10th.
- 11. Utah Mammoth (4-2-0, +2,200): Biggest riser of the week, up four spots. Utah leads the Central at 4-2-0.
- 12. New Jersey Devils (2-2-0, +2,500): Unchanged at 12th after a 2-2-0 start.
- 13. Buffalo Sabres (2-3-0, +3,000): Up one spot despite a 2-3-0 record.
- 14. Toronto Maple Leafs (3-2-1, +3,000): Down three spots even after Auston Matthews and William Nylander each had two goals and two assists in the 6-3 win over Colorado.
- 15. Ottawa Senators (4-1-0, +3,000): Up two spots, and part of a three-way tie for the Atlantic lead at 8 points.
- 16. Anaheim Ducks (4-1-0, +3,500): Down three spots despite a 4-1-0 start. Books moved them from +3,000 to +3,500.
- 17. Los Angeles Kings (0-2-2, +3,400): Still looking for a first win at 0-2-2.
- 18. San Jose Sharks (3-2-0, +3,750): Holding 18th at 3-2-0.
Tier 4: long shots (19 to 32)
- 19. Columbus Blue Jackets (2-2-0, +6,000): Up one spot at 2-2-0.
- 20. Pittsburgh Penguins (3-2-1, +6,300): Up one spot at 3-2-1.
- 21. Philadelphia Flyers (0-4-2, +7,050): Down two spots. Philadelphia is the only team in the East without a win at 0-4-2.
- 22. New York Rangers (4-2-0, +7,500): Second in the Metro at 4-2-0 but unchanged at 22nd in the market.
- 23. Boston Bruins (4-2-0, +9,500): Level with the Atlantic leaders on points at 4-2-0, still a long shot at +9,500.
- 24. Winnipeg Jets (3-1-1, +11,250): Up two spots at 3-1-1.
- 25. New York Islanders (2-3-0, +12,500): Down one spot at 2-3-0.
- 26. St. Louis Blues (2-2-1, +13,750): Down one spot at 2-2-1.
- 27. Nashville Predators (2-1-2, +13,750): Up one spot at 2-1-2.
- 28. Detroit Red Wings (1-3-1, +18,750): Down one spot and last in the Atlantic at 1-3-1.
- 29. Chicago Blackhawks (1-5-0, +27,500): 1-5-0, last in the Central.
- 30. Seattle Kraken (3-2-0, +32,500): 3-2-0 on the ice, still 30th in the market.
- 31. Calgary Flames (0-5-0, +50,000): The only team without a point at 0-5-0.
- 32. Vancouver Canucks (2-4-0, +50,000): 2-4-0 and tied with Calgary for the longest price on the board.
What moved the NHL odds this week
Three things moved the board. The Barkov injury pulled Florida off the top. Hot starts in Utah, Ottawa and Washington earned small bumps. And the market mostly ignored early records on both ends: Anaheim is 4-1-0 and dropped, Boston is 4-2-0 and did not move, and Los Angeles is still winless and dropped only one spot. Two weeks into an 84-game season, books are still pricing rosters more than standings.
