NHL Power Rankings Week 3 (2026-27): All 32 Teams by Stanley Cup Odds

NHL Power Rankings Week 3 (2026-27): All 32 Teams by Stanley Cup Odds

Three weeks into the 2026-27 season, our NHL power rankings for Week 3 rank all 32 teams by their betting odds to win the Stanley Cup, as of Thursday morning, October 22, 2026. The Carolina Hurricanes stay No. 1 at a +675 consensus with the league's best record (8-2-1), the Colorado Avalanche move up to second, and the Florida Panthers slide to third after losing 5-1 in Ottawa with Aleksander Barkov still out and Jacob Markstrom now hurt too. The Boston Bruins (7-2-1) are the biggest climber, up four spots, and the Rangers (7-3-1) are the team the books refuse to believe.

Where it stands
Carolina leads at +675, with bet365 and DraftKings as short as +600. Colorado (+700) and Florida (+775) follow, and Edmonton (+850) is the only other team under +1,000. Records are through Wednesday night, October 21, from the NHL standings feed. The odds are the consensus of six books on the VegasInsider board (bet365, BetMGM, DraftKings, Caesars, FanDuel, Hard Rock), cross-checked against DraftKings' board on TheLines. Futures prices move every week.

NHL power rankings Week 3: all 32 teams

Rank is by the consensus Stanley Cup price, which is the middle of the six books. Best is the longest price available at any of them. Fair is each team's share of the whole board once the books' margin is removed, which works here because all 32 teams are priced (the six-book average adds up to 125.7% before the margin comes out). The last column shows the move from our Week 2 rankings.

Tier 1: Carolina, Colorado and Florida (1 to 3)

The top three are the same three teams as last week in a different order, and the gap between them is still small: 10.3%, 10.0% and 9.1% of the board. The difference this week is that the Hurricanes have the record to match the price, and the Panthers have two injuries instead of one.

1. Carolina Hurricanes (8-2-1, +675)

Carolina is 8-2-1 with 17 points, the most in the league, and gets Seth Jarvis back from June shoulder surgery as soon as Thursday night in Edmonton. Its consensus price shortened from +700 to +675 and bet365 and DraftKings have it at +600.

2. Colorado Avalanche (5-4-1, +700)

Colorado is 5-4-1 and still +700 at four of the six books, which is why it edges Florida for second even with the worse record. Logan O'Connor is expected to make his season debut Friday against Tampa Bay, and Nicolas Roy and Zachary L'Heureux are week to week.

3. Florida Panthers (5-3-2, +775)

Florida slips to third at a +775 consensus after a 5-1 loss in Ottawa on Wednesday. Aleksander Barkov is still six to eight weeks away from the leg injury he suffered on October 2, and goalie Jacob Markstrom is out one to two weeks after taking a puck in practice.

Tier 2: contenders (4 to 9)

Edmonton, Vegas and Tampa Bay all sit under +1,200, and all three have at least seven wins. Washington and Minnesota swapped places on price, and Dallas rounds out the group on the strength of its goaltending.

4. Edmonton Oilers (7-1-1, +850)

Edmonton is 7-1-1, Connor McDavid leads the NHL with 26 points in nine games (6 goals, 20 assists) and Evan Bouchard has 18. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins makes his season debut Thursday against Carolina; Matt Savoie is two to four weeks away and Frederik Andersen is further out.

5. Vegas Golden Knights (8-3-0, +1,000)

Vegas is 8-3-0 with 16 points and 44 goals through midweek, the most in the league per Hockey-Reference. Jack Eichel has 18 points. The price held at +1,000.

6. Tampa Bay Lightning (7-2-0, +1,100)

Tampa Bay is 7-2-0 and plays Colorado on Friday. The consensus moved from +1,200 to +1,100.

7. Washington Capitals (5-4-0, +1,150)

Washington is 5-4-0. Logan Thompson is day to day with a lower-body injury and Pierre-Luc Dubois has missed five games with an illness; Matt Roy returned Tuesday after six games out. The Capitals pass Minnesota on price, +1,150 to +1,300.

8. Minnesota Wild (6-2-2, +1,300)

Minnesota is 6-2-2 and Kirill Kaprizov leads the league with 11 goals. The consensus is unchanged at +1,300; Washington nosed ahead on price, so the Wild drop a spot without their odds moving.

9. Dallas Stars (5-3-1, +1,550)

Dallas is 5-3-1 and has allowed 15 goals in nine games, the fewest in the league. Jake Oettinger leads all goalies at .945 and a 1.13 goals-against average. Esa Lindell is out at least a week after blocking a shot.

Tier 3: playoff hopefuls (10 to 18)

Utah, Ottawa and Buffalo each moved on real news this week, and this is where the standings and the prices start to disagree.

10. Utah Mammoth (7-3-0, +1,950)

Utah is 7-3-0 and moves up one spot at +1,950; the best price is +3,000 at Hard Rock. Michael Carcone went on injured reserve with an upper-body injury.

11. Montreal Canadiens (4-3-2, +2,500)

Montreal is 4-3-2 and holds a +2,500 consensus, but Utah and the Capitals moved ahead on price, so the Canadiens drop a spot without their odds changing.

12. New Jersey Devils (5-4-0, +2,500)

New Jersey is 5-4-0 at +2,500, with Caesars the short book at +2,000.

13. Ottawa Senators (7-3-0, +2,650)

Ottawa is the week's biggest riser among contenders, up two spots to 13th. It is 7-3-0 after beating Florida 5-1 with Jake Sanderson back from an eight-game absence (two assists), and Linus Ullmark is second among goalies at .945. Thomas Chabot is out one to two weeks.

14. Buffalo Sabres (4-4-2, +3,000)

Buffalo is 4-4-2 and got Rasmus Dahlin and Jason Zucker back on Wednesday; Zucker scored in his season debut. Sam Carrick went on injured reserve.

15. Toronto Maple Leafs (5-4-2, +3,500)

Toronto is 5-4-2 and Auston Matthews has 18 points, tied for second in the league, but the Maple Leafs have given up 35 goals in 11 games. Jake McCabe left Tuesday's game after a high stick.

16. Anaheim Ducks (4-5-1, +4,500)

Anaheim is 4-5-1 and the price has not moved from +4,500.

17. Los Angeles Kings (1-6-2, +4,500)

Los Angeles is 1-6-2 and has scored 17 goals, tied for the fewest in the league, yet the market still has it at +4,500 because of the roster on paper. Quinton Byfield is day to day; Mats Zuccarello returned after three games out.

18. San Jose Sharks (5-4-1, +5,000)

San Jose is 5-4-1. Alexander Wennberg missed Tuesday with an upper-body injury and is day to day.

Tier 4: long shots (19 to 32)

Boston and New York are both 7-win teams priced like also-rans, and the bottom of the board is now a two-team tie at +100,000.

19. Boston Bruins (7-2-1, +6,550)

Boston is 7-2-1 with a plus-14 goal differential and Jeremy Swayman at .928, and the market is finally moving: the consensus shortened from +9,500 to +6,550, good for a four-spot jump to 19th. FanDuel is the short book at +4,500.

20. Columbus Blue Jackets (3-5-0, +7,500)

Columbus is 3-5-0 and holds at +7,500.

21. Pittsburgh Penguins (3-6-1, +7,500)

Pittsburgh is 3-6-1. Rookie Ben Kindel had a medical episode on a team flight this week that forced the plane to turn around; the team has not detailed his status.

22. New York Rangers (7-3-1, +8,750)

New York is 7-3-1 with 15 points and Dylan Garand at .929, but the books have barely moved, +7,500 to +8,750 on the consensus. That is the largest gap between standings and price on the board.

23. St. Louis Blues (4-4-0, +10,000)

St. Louis is 4-4-0 and moves up three spots to 23rd on a price change from +13,750 to +10,000.

24. Winnipeg Jets (4-3-2, +10,500)

Winnipeg is 4-3-2 at +10,500.

25. Philadelphia Flyers (3-6-3, +12,500)

Philadelphia is 3-6-3 and has scored 17 goals in 12 games. Travis Konecny, out since taking a shot off the ankle on October 8, is at least a week away and could miss into November. The price lengthened from +7,050 to +12,500, a four-spot drop.

26. New York Islanders (5-3-1, +13,750)

New York is 5-3-1 behind Ilya Sorokin's .934, but Mathew Barzal has no timetable to practice, Calum Ritchie is out four to six weeks and Matias Maccelli two to four.

27. Nashville Predators (3-2-3, +15,000)

Nashville is 3-2-3 at +15,000.

28. Detroit Red Wings (3-3-3, +21,250)

Detroit is 3-3-3 at +25,000 consensus, with Caesars and Hard Rock at +10,000.

29. Seattle Kraken (6-3-1, +25,000)

Seattle is 6-3-1 and has scored 39 goals, yet its price went the wrong way, from +32,500 to a +20,000 consensus with Caesars at +50,000. It climbs two spots on the price anyway.

30. Chicago Blackhawks (3-6-0, +45,000)

Chicago is 3-6-0. Bowen Byram is out with an upper-body injury that coach Jeff Blashill says is not a concussion.

31. Calgary Flames (2-6-0, +75,000)

Calgary is 2-6-0 with 17 goals scored. Mikael Backlund and Jake Middleton are both day to day, and the Flames share the bottom of the board with Vancouver.

32. Vancouver Canucks (2-8-1, +100,000)

Vancouver is 2-8-1 and has given up 51 goals in 11 games, the most in the league. Three books have it at +100,000.

What moved the NHL odds this week

Four changes stand out. Carolina shortened to +675 with Seth Jarvis on the way back. Florida lengthened to +775 after the Markstrom injury stacked on top of Barkov's, and it lost to Ottawa on Wednesday. Boston shortened from +9,500 to +6,550 after its seventh win, the largest price move on the board. Philadelphia went the other way, from +7,050 to +12,500, with Travis Konecny out and three wins in twelve games. Ottawa and St. Louis each climbed on smaller moves, and Seattle's price got worse even as it improved to 6-3-1.

The one place to look twice is the Rangers. At 7-3-1 with a .929 goalie, a +8,750 consensus is the kind of gap that usually closes one way or the other within a month. On the other side, Los Angeles at 1-6-2 is still priced like a top-half team. The market is reading rosters, not standings, and three weeks is not enough to change its mind.
