Prices come from VegasInsider's live Stanley Cup board, read book by book, and were checked against SportsbookReview's futures page, where the BetMGM, DraftKings and FanDuel columns matched. Records and points are through Friday night's games, October 30, from the FOX Sports and CBS Sports standings. The full board adds up to 125.3% before the margin comes out, so a team's fair percentage is its implied share divided by that total. Our free plays, including the NHL sides we post from time to time, are on the free picks page.
Tier 1: Carolina, Colorado and Edmonton (1 to 3)
1. Carolina Hurricanes (11-2-2, +650). The defending champions lead the league with 24 points and hold the shortest price on every one of the four books, with DraftKings the lowest at +600. They took seven of ten points on a five-game road trip and then opened a three-game home stand, so the record and the price agree.
2. Colorado Avalanche (7-5-1, +700). The market has not blinked at a 1-3 week that included a 6-2 loss in Nashville: all four books still have Colorado at +700, one tick behind Carolina. The 15 points sit sixth in the Western Conference, so this is the clearest case on the board of the odds running ahead of the standings.
3. Edmonton Oilers (9-2-2, +825). Edmonton moves up one spot on a 9-2-2 start even after dropping consecutive games for the first time this season, including a 4-3 shootout loss in Detroit. Defenseman Mattias Ekholm and forward Zach Hyman both left games this week, and Ekholm is expected to miss at least a week.
Tier 2: contenders (4 to 8)
4. Vegas Golden Knights (9-5-1, +900) and 5. Florida Panthers (8-4-2, +900) share a consensus price and are split by the best number, +950 at FanDuel for both, and then by points, where Vegas has 19 to Florida's 18. Florida is the team sliding: two spots down after losing in Ottawa and Pittsburgh on its four-game road trip, with Aleksander Barkov on long-term injured reserve since October 3 and targeting a late-November return, and Brad Marchand out about six weeks from October 9 with a left leg injury. Vegas lost to New Jersey at home on Friday but stays at 9-5-1.
6. Tampa Bay Lightning (8-3-1, +1,050). The books disagree more on Tampa Bay than on any team in the top ten: DraftKings has +800 while BetMGM has +1,300. Nikita Kucherov passed Steven Stamkos this week to become the franchise's all-time points leader.
7. Minnesota Wild (9-3-3, +1,200). Minnesota leads the Central with 21 points and moves up one. The Wild scored nine goals in back-to-back wins in Seattle and Vancouver and held the Kraken to one goal in a 5-1 win.
8. New Jersey Devils (9-5-0, +1,250). The biggest move on the board. New Jersey was +2,500 a week ago; after acquiring Connor Hellebuyck from Winnipeg on October 23, the three-time Vezina winner and 2024-25 Hart Trophy winner, the price is +1,200 at bet365 and FanDuel. The Devils sent Dawson Mercer, Nico Daws, Nick Bjugstad, prospect Alexander Command, a 2029 second-round pick and a 2027 seventh to the Jets. Before the trade, Daws and Jake Allen had a combined .880 save percentage, 23rd in the league. New Jersey beat Vegas on Friday to reach 9-5-0.
Tier 3: playoff hopefuls (9 to 16)
9. Washington Capitals (8-4-0, +1,600) drop two spots on price alone; the record is fine, and Alex Tuch scored the winner in a 4-3 win over his former team in Buffalo. 10. Dallas Stars (7-5-1, +1,600) own a plus-12 goal differential, third in the league. 11. Utah Mammoth (9-5-0, +1,850) begin a six-game road trip at 18 points.
12. Montreal Canadiens (8-3-2, +2,500) beat Winnipeg in the Heritage Classic behind rookie goalie Jacob Fowler's 33 saves. 13. Ottawa Senators (8-5-1, +2,750) scored 12 goals in two home wins, including a 7-4 win over the Rangers, before leaving on a western trip that keeps them away until November 7. 14. Buffalo Sabres (6-4-3, +3,300) lost three straight entering a California trip.
15. Boston Bruins (9-4-1, +3,500). Boston climbs four spots and is now 9-4-1 with 19 points, second in the East, after a 7-0-1 run that included four third-period goals to beat San Jose. DraftKings is the holdout at +5,000, which is the best price on the board for a team with this record. 16. Toronto Maple Leafs (7-6-2, +4,000) scored 21 goals in a four-game run that ended in Calgary; Auston Matthews reached 800 points in 703 games, the fastest in franchise history.
Tier 4: long shots (17 to 32)
17. San Jose Sharks (7-6-1, +6,000) went 3-2-1 on a six-game trip. 18. Los Angeles Kings (4-6-2, +7,000) have the widest spread of prices in this tier, from +4,500 at FanDuel to +10,000 at BetMGM. 19. Anaheim Ducks (5-7-1, +7,500) fall three spots after losing to both New York teams and New Jersey on a road trip. 20. Pittsburgh Penguins (5-6-2, +8,500) beat Florida 4-0 and Nashville 3-2 this week.
21. New York Rangers (7-6-1, +8,750) have lost three straight and allowed 18 goals in that span with Igor Shesterkin out for the season after his October 10 knee injury. 22. Columbus Blue Jackets (5-6-0, +10,000) rank 29th on the power play at 11.5%. 23. St. Louis Blues (6-6-1, +10,000), 24. Winnipeg Jets (4-7-3, +15,000), who are 0-3-2 in their last five and now play Dawson Mercer, and 25. New York Islanders (7-4-2, +15,000), whose 16 points are better than their price, round out the middle of the tier.
26. Philadelphia Flyers (3-8-4, +17,000) started 0-6-3 and then won three straight. 27. Nashville Predators (4-4-5, +17,750) have the league's third-best power play at 33.3%. 28. Seattle Kraken (8-5-1, +20,000) are the mismatch of the board, sitting fifth in the West on points while the market has them 28th; Jared McCann is out about ten weeks with a lower-body injury. 29. Detroit Red Wings (6-4-3, +27,500), 30. Chicago Blackhawks (4-9-0, +50,000), 31. Calgary Flames (6-7-0, +50,000), who went 4-0 on a home stand and beat Seattle on Friday, and 32. Vancouver Canucks (3-11-1, +87,500) close the list.
What moved the NHL odds this week
The Hellebuyck trade did most of the work. New Jersey went from +2,500 to +1,250 in a week and jumped Washington, Dallas, Utah and Montreal without playing a game that changed its record much. Winnipeg stayed at +15,000; the market had already priced in the Jets' slow start before the goalie left.
Florida's drop is the other story. The Panthers were +775 and third a week ago; two road losses with Barkov and Marchand out moved them to +900 and fifth, behind Vegas on points. Boston's climb from 19th to 15th is the market catching up to a 9-4-1 record: the Bruins were +6,550 last week and are +3,500 now, though DraftKings still has them at +5,000. Edmonton edged past Florida into the top three despite the Ekholm and Hyman scares, and Colorado held second place at +700 through a 1-3 week, which tells you how little the books weigh an October slump for a roster they rate this highly.
Where the standings and the market disagree most: Seattle (fifth in the West, 28th on the board), the Islanders (16 points, 25th) and Colorado (sixth in the West, second on the board). Those gaps are where a futures bettor starts looking. For the weekly NFL version of this board, see our NFL power rankings for Week 8.
