"Opened" is the opening price on SportsbookReview's Stanley Cup futures board. "Books" is the range at bet365, BetMGM, DraftKings and FanDuel on VegasInsider's live board, and "Best" is the longest of those four. Fair % takes the median price, converts it to a probability and divides by the board total of 124.7% to remove the margin, which works because all 32 teams are priced. Kalshi is the Tuesday-morning midpoint, scaled so the market adds up to 100%. Records are through Tuesday, November 3, from the CBS Sports standings. Caesars and Hard Rock were left out because their prices lag the other four on a dozen teams. Our free plays, including the NHL sides we post, are on the free picks page.
Who is the favorite to win the Stanley Cup?
The Carolina Hurricanes are the favorite at +650 at the four-book median, with DraftKings the short book at +600 and BetMGM the long one at +750. Carolina opened the season at +750, behind Florida, and moved to the front with a 12-3-2 start and 26 points, the most in the league. On Kalshi's Stanley Cup market the Hurricanes trade at about 10%, tied with Colorado, which fits the sportsbook number once the margin comes out. A $100 bet on Carolina at +650 returns $750 if the Hurricanes win the Cup.
Stanley Cup contenders behind Carolina
Colorado Avalanche
Colorado is +700 to +750 and second on the board at 9-6-1 with 19 points, the clearest case of the odds running ahead of the standings. The Avalanche opened at +700, so the books have barely moved them through a start that has them tied for third in the Central Division.
Edmonton Oilers, Vegas Golden Knights and Florida Panthers
Edmonton is +750 to +950 at 11-2-3 and tied with Minnesota for the most points in the West at 25; the Oilers opened at +900 and shortened. Vegas is +850 to +1,000 at 10-5-2 after opening at +900. Florida is the team that went the other way: the Panthers opened as the favorite at +650 and are now +900 at every one of the four books at 8-5-2.
Tampa Bay Lightning, Minnesota Wild and New Jersey Devils
Tampa Bay (+1,000 to +1,100) and Minnesota (+1,100 to +1,200) both shortened from their openers of +1,300 and +1,400. New Jersey is the biggest mover on the board: the Devils opened at +3,300, traded for Connor Hellebuyck on October 23 and are now +1,100 to +1,200 at 10-5-0, tied with Minnesota at the median. Kalshi rates Minnesota higher than the books do, at about 9%, against 6.2% fair at the sportsbooks.
The long prices with the records to beat them
Boston is 11-4-1 with 23 points, first in the Atlantic, and still +3,500 to +4,000, down from an opener of +10,000. Utah went from +3,500 to +1,700 at 10-6-0. Seattle has 17 points and sits at +15,000 to +25,000, the widest gap between standings and price on the board. On the other side, the Los Angeles Kings are +4,000 at FanDuel and +10,000 at BetMGM at 4-7-2, the biggest disagreement between books on any team, and the Philadelphia Flyers drifted from an opener of +5,500 to +20,000 or longer at 4-9-4.
How Stanley Cup futures work
Books build in a margin, which is why the 32 prices add up to 124.7%. Shopping the best price matters more on futures than on any single game: Edmonton is +750 at DraftKings and +950 at FanDuel, a difference of $200 on a $100 bet. Our guide to futures bets explains the math, and Kalshi lets you sell out of a position before the season ends.
